Bridgestone has unveiled the continuation of its partnership with BMW for its i3 electric range. The manufacturer will offer its “Ologic” technology for the first time on a sports tire.
ELECTRIC BUT ABOVE ALL SPORTY
Already present in the original equipment on the BMW i3 , Bridgestone continues its partnership with the German manufacturer and its new electric city car. More elegant, more sporty, the BMW i3s posed different conditions for Bridgestone compared to the classic i3 version. The dilemma for the manufacturer being to offer an efficient but also sporty tire for this more powerful vehicle.
ECOPIA TIRES BECOME SPORTY
Bridgestone therefore chose the Ecopia EP500 tire with “ologic” technology for the BMW i3. Known to be thinner and larger, it is mounted on 20-inch diameter rims. “The ologic technology helps these vehicles to optimize their performance”, specifies Christophe de Valroger, Vice-President of Original Equipment at Bridgestone EMEA. "It achieves this without making any concessions in terms of security," he adds. The tread of the Ecopia EP500 tire would ensure good grip, even on wet ground, according to the manufacturer.
